One useful starting point

Different floors.
The same clear math.

Choose a starting material, then use the exact coverage and price on your supplier’s carton.

Your flooring budget starts here.

Start with our example rooms, then make them yours.

01 / Measure

Your rooms

Use decimal feet or meters. For 10 ft 6 in, enter 10.5 ft. Dimensions are inside wall to inside wall.

By default, rooms using the same product share boxes. Choose separate rounding when offcuts or stock cannot be shared. Different products never share boxes.

How shapes and waste are calculated

Rectangle: A × B. L-shape: outer A × B minus corner C × D. Triangle: base A × perpendicular height B ÷ 2. Circle: π × (diameter A ÷ 2)². For more complex spaces, add non-overlapping sections as separate rooms.

Each room’s area is multiplied by 1 + waste %. The starting 10% is an editable planning allowance, not a universal requirement. Check the selected product and layout. Measuring guide →

02 / Choose

Flooring assumptions

Example prices observed October 10, 2026. They are not national prices or live inventory. Replace them with your local quote. Read all sources & limits.

Edit box coverage and box prices

03 / Finish the edges

Underlayment, trim & transitions

Extras are optional and start excluded. Pad, moisture barrier, mortar and grout depend on your chosen product and subfloor. What to include →

100 sq ft / $59.99 example: Sentinel Protect Plus ↗, West Des Moines, IA, observed Oct 10, 2026. Compatibility is not assumed. Attached-pad floors may not need another cushion.

Add measured trim and transitions

Measure the actual edges receiving new trim, deduct door openings, and add your cutting allowance. Trim length is not inferred from floor area.

8 ft is an editable length assumption, not a sourced product. Enter your supplier’s dimensions and prices. Check transition profile, length and floor heights.

04 / Bring it together

Your material list

Flooring quantities below are calculated minimums. Edit dimensions, waste or coverage above to change them. Add spare boxes as a custom line. All accessory and custom prices are editable.

Consider adhesive, grout, moisture barrier, leveling compound and delivery. A zero-price item is unpriced and excluded from the money total until you enter a price.

Tax applies to all listed materials in this simplified estimate; delivery is untaxed here. Local rules and checkout totals may differ. Labor, demolition, tool rental and disposal are excluded unless you add a labeled allowance.
